where is the line (with you)?

i can not tolerate selfishness. it is the bane of my existence. its all around us, on the streets, in the work place, in any public find and sadly in places that are a bit to close for comfort. if a friend has a bad day or something disastrous happens i am more than willing to dismiss personal needs and listen to them uninterrupted. hopefully we all would. but where do we draw the line? what about those who dictate and direct without consideration? whatever happened to social graces? whatever happened to empathy? whatever happened to self sacrifice? what about the needs of the many outweighing the needs of the few?
