all in one way to much info post

ready....go!

first of my more than generous parents took us to Disney World for Christmas and it was (as usual) awesome.

we stayed 7 days and which is the longest we have ever stayed at Disney and we could have stayed 7 more. there is just so much to do there these days. we had a blast and it only rained a couple of days but it was more than tolerable. fantastic fantastic fantastic. i'm ready to go back again.

changing course, ready....go.
when we got back from vacation we found a lump on bonnie's leg and she had to have surgery. turn out she had a stage 2 mast cell tumor! took her to Premier Vet in Smyrna Tn, DO NOT GO THERE! we've been dealing with them for a couple of weeks now and they have just been a nightmare. the staff behind the counter ignores you until they are ready to deal with you and they have absolutely no bedside manner. ( i had a taste of this earlier in the year when i had to have my hamster moose put to sleep because he had wet tail. dr. hatcher wasn't sympathetic in the least.) at our regular vet our dogs wouldn't flinch a muscle when given a shot or when they had blood taken but at this vet they were all over the place.
we went back twice in a week having issues with bonnie's stitches and when given the results of her lumpectomy the nurse didn't even offer to let me talk to a dr. to see what the next step in dealing with a cancerous tumor would be. she listed off some medical jargon handed me a print out of a study done on this type of tumor and sent me on my way. needless to say i took her back to our regular vet (Nashboro Animal Hospital in Donelson Tn, they are angels) and got a second opinion and some counciling. two weeks after her surgery her stitched burst open revealing her muscle. well Premier was closer so daniel called them ( i was at work). they closed early but left the number for dr. hatcher on the voice mail. daniel called him and he told us to just put neosporin on it and he would see her in the morning. wft? so daniel took her to the emergency vet to be restapled.
i went to Premier the next day to rip them all new ass holes and of course dr. hatcher had left early that day. i registerd my complaint with a nurse and she had him call me later that day. he pretty much blamed it on us for not having brought her in to see him (even though we had come in twice with stitching issues). he said he was sorry he didn't make himself clearer on the phone with daniel that she would have been fine til morning but really had no idea why i was so outraged. such an idiot.bonnie is doing fine though and we will never go back to such a shotty ilreputable vet again. i have heard bad stories from co-workers about them too (including problems with stitches). well lesson learned, if it ain't broke don't fix it, we will remain loyal Nashboro clients.
